Style overload at Aintree's Ladies day !

So then ladies, what does Style mean to you?

That’s the question for the Grand National Ladies day style blogger competition, where you can win 2 x VIP tickets to the special day. All you have to do is write a blog post answering this question & tweet @Aintreeinsider about it by the 26th of March. Did I mention that just by doing this you get 2 x standard ladies day tickets for free!

I know, I know, this doesn’t give you long but what gal can’t answer this! Eeeek, excited!

So where do I start? Hhhhmmm this is certainly something I can expand on with fashion style surrounding me every day in my line of work. So at any given opportunity I am exploring key trends hitting the high street as well as viewing the stunning yet expensive collections from the catwalks with London Fashion week always getting my pulse racing! But while I do find myself consumed by the latest pastel overload, or tropical influences heading our way, Style to me is more about injecting your personality through you clothes. Ladies day is all about style & it's important to wear that statement piece, whatever that might be!!

While I take inspiration from trends in store, they come and go from one season to the next so I find myself taking elements of a stylish theme showing through & working it with my own personal flair & not going overboard with it ! Having subtle hints of the theme showing through on shoes, belts, jewellery or even through your make-up or nail vanish. 

Colour is certainly key this year, & who doesn’t want a vibrant palette in their wardrobe ! It brightens up your day & injects fun ! But for me, accessorising is the main word today ladies! As I am still struggling to find that ideal dress that ticks all  the boxes I leave you today with a number of accessory delights that caught my eye.

Tanking you ASOS for inspiration today, as always they have a fab array of options from every brand possible. These shoes above are gorgeous & sit in with the prints that are so on trend for this summer !

& this vibrant colour mix on the shoes is really striking ! Pantone's colour of the year is 'tangerine tango' so instead of going all out with a full vibrant dress number, why not go for a colourful mix in the heels & a fancy nail polish.

Oh & don’t forget to layer ladies just in case but if today’s bright sunshine is anything to go by then make sure you take them killer shades & a fan ! Enjoy & have a bet for me x x

Yikes, I know, I know, it's over a week now since I last made an appearance on here ! I have so many posts I want to add on but time isn't quite on my side at the moment & yep the family got the dreaded sick bug last week so all 3 of us needed tlc at some point in the week ! A nice ickle surprise ............

Morning all. I'm still trying to find time to catch up but wanted to update on the exciting finds from late last week! Ok so the catwalk posts didn't quite make an appearance last week , sorry about that ! It's been a busy old time with family life , house work & office work taking priority so the blog hasn't been given much attention. Ooooppppssss !

Anyway I started researching LFW catwalks & of course Milan but still more to do so I leave you today with a teeny tiny Burberry board with the lovely birdies that seem to be a very strong feature for the show ! We tweeting love you Burberry ;)

I have been working on my own childrenswear prints recently & as owls seem to be a big hit from the top designers for Fall 12 I thought I would show you a tiny snippet of my two favourite friends ! Meet ickle pea & mama !

Catwalk Crazy........

Blimey Riley, what a mad week it's been ! We have finally moved house which was actually quite a stress-free time & hubby had the week off so planned to get the new house in ship shape order, shop till we dropped at all the furniture stores & get lots of odd jobs done ! hhhmmmm, didn't quite happen how I had imagined. The week started off as planned but then baba Spencer got ill ( & is still a little under the weather ) I then had a day out of action as caught the cold bug & then ste got it ! On a positive internet was very straight going & nearly all the boxes have been unpacked it's just a matter of finding homes for everything.

So back to work mode & I have a lot of work to catch up on including the amazing LFW that I still haven't had chance to really focus on yet! So for today a little catwalk teeser. I will be posting my key loves later in the week but felt we needed a little bit of colour on the post today !

By the very fashionable Burberry, this ickle number caught my eye with the cutsy bow detailing at the shoulder & the very quirky centre back zip ! Like it ! Lovely warm mix of colours, yummy x

Our perfect day......

Well as you have probably noticed I have been away from the blog for a few days & didn't get chance to post this little number before my very exciting house move ! 

So even though it is a little bit late for love week I thought I would show you a sneak peek of our special day anyway ! Enjoy & I will be back to work by the end of this week so stay tuned for some more exciting posts !

So I thought I would show you a little snippet of the most  loved up day of my life, our wedding day 24.05.09. This & the birth of our baby boy Spencer are the most special to me & the lead up to our big day was as you can imagine a little hectic.
As I have experience in pattern making & design I really wanted to stretch myself & attempt to make my own wedding dress ! Something I hadn't done before but you have to learn at some point right ? So here are a few pics of the final creation. Made all by myself. For more on our special day go to Rock my wedding , where our day was posted for all to see. x
